Buchan Caves Reserve–Autumn Colours– May 2017

A drive to Buchan Caves today and what a spectacular display of fantastic colour, light and shade!   It is a beautiful place to visit at any time of the year, but especially now as the trees are dropping their autumn leaves.  I wish we had gone up a few days earlier when more leave would still have been on the trees, but notwithstanding, it is still an amazing and beautiful sight.

East Gippsland Field Days

We attended the East Gippsland Field Days event at Bairnsdale Airport today,  as we have for the last four or so years.  We felt that this year was much improved, with more seating, more displays and better laid out in the area.  We totally enjoyed the day!

Last time we had trouble finding somewhere to sit down to have a coffee and food, but this year there were seats strategically placed around the area, providing plenty of seating. Nagle College band were playing, so we sat and had our lunch and spent an enjoyable half hour listening to the students enjoy their music. There were plenty of toilets placed around the whole area, and they were clean and well stocked with necessities! If you have some time tomorrow, I highly recommend taking the family out for the day. Well done to organisers and everyone involved, was a very enjoyable day.

The highlight for me was seeing the camels.  They are amazing creatures, and they were all lined up waiting so patiently for whatever might happen next.  See their Facebook page for details Australian Camels.

Port of Lakes Entrance, March 17th 2017

Fabulous day for a walk around the Port!  Never tire of seeing it all, and never tire of taking photos of it all!

These HUGE jellyfish were all around the boats,  appearing eerily from the depths, floating along and then vanishing into the mire again!  Very graceful and quite pretty in their own way, and I'm told they are harmless, although they will leave you with a mild rash if you touch them.

The Fishing Fleet
Not all in Port, but enough for some good photos!

Paynesville - March 12 2017

Drive to Paynesville yesterday.  Fantastic day and some beautiful craft out on the water.

The Ferry going back and forth is always interesting to watch.

And the busy main street, provides a hub bub of activity

Always a great place to grab a coffee and sit and watch the world go by!
